Make squares of Bucilla "Wool and Shetland Wool," 2 oz balls;
or Bear Brand, Fleisher's or Botany Machine Washable Winsom, 2 oz skeins;
or equivalent

Use Crochet Hook, Size G hook or size required to obtain gauge

GAUGE: Each Square approximately 8 ins. square

With B, ch 37 for lower edge.

Row 1–wrong side–Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, † * draw up loop on hook to measure ½ in., yo and draw through loop on hook, insert hook between the ½ in. loop and the single strand behind it and work 1 sc over single strand *–knot st made; repeat between *'s once more, skip next 4 ch, 1 sc in next ch-1 knot st loop made; repeat from † 6 times more; 7 knot st loops.

Row 2–Ch 3, turn, * draw up loop on hook to measure ½ in., yo and draw through loop on hook, insert hook between the ½ in. loop and the single strand behind it and work 1 sc as before *, 1 sc in center sc of knot st loop, † repeat between *'s twice, 1 sc in center sc of next knot st loop; repeat from † 5 times more, repeat between *'s once, 1 dc in last sc; 6 knot st loops, plus half loop at each side.

Row 3–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first dc, † repeat between *'s of row 2 twice, 1 sc in center sc of next knot st loop; repeat from † 6 times more, end last repeat 1 sc in top of turning ch; 7 knot st loops.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until 16 rows–about 8 ins. from beg., end with row 2.

Final Row–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in first dc, ch 4, 1 sc in center sc of knot st loop, * ch 4, 1 sc in center sc of next knot st loop; repeat from * 4 times more, ch 4, 1 sc in top of turning ch; 7 ch–4 spaces. Fasten off.
