Make squares of Bucilla "Wool and Shetland Wool," 2 oz balls;
or Bear Brand, Fleisher's or Botany Machine Washable Winsom, 2 oz skeins;
or equivalent

Use Crochet Hook, Size G or size required to obtain gauge

GAUGE: Each Square approximately 8 ins. square

Row 1–right side–With B, ch 4 for side edge of petal, work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook for top of petal, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in last ch–1 petal made, * ch 4, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in last ch; repeat from * 8 times more; 10 petals.

NOTE–Dc at base of petals is lower edge of square.

Row 2–Ch 3, turn, work sl st in sc at top of first petal, * ch 4, make 1 petal as before, sl st in sc at top of next petal; repeat from * 8 times more, work 1 dc at lower corner, working into same ch as dc of last petal in row below; 9 petals.

Row 3–Ch 7, turn, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in next ch, sl st in sc at top of first petal; * make 1 petal, sl st in sc at top of next petal; repeat from * 7 times more, make 1 petal, 1 dc in sl st at top of last petal in 2nd row below; 10 petals.

Row 4–Ch 3, turn, sl st in sc at top of first petal, * make 1 petal, sl st in sc at top of next petal; repeat from * 8 times more, work 1 dc, working into same ch as dc in petal below; 9 petals.

Repeat rows 3 and 4 until 13 rows from beg., end with pat. row 3–about 8 ins. from beg.

Final Row–Ch 3, turn, sl st in top of first petal, * ch 3, sl st in top of next petal; repeat from * 8 times more, 1 dc in same ch as dc in petal below. Fasten off.
