Make squares of Bucilla "Wool and Shetland Wool," 2 oz balls;
or Bear Brand, Fleisher's or Botany Machine Washable Winsom, 2 oz skeins;
or equivalent

Use Crochet Hook, Size G or size required to obtain gauge

GAUGE: Each Square approximately 8 ins. square

Multiple of 9 ch sts

With A, ch 38 for lower edge.

Row 1–right side–Work 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, * skip next 2 ch, work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc–all in next ch for shell, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch; repeat from * twice more, skip next 2 ch, 1 shell in next ch, skip next 2 ch, 1 dc in each of last 2 ch.

Row 2–Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, * ch 2, skip first 2 dc of shell, work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc–all in ch-2 space of shell, ch 2, skip last 2 dc of shell, 1 dc in each of next 4 dc; repeat from * twice more, ch 2, skip 2 dc of shell, work 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc–all in ch-2 space of shell, ch 2, skip 2 dc of shell, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch.

Row 3–Ch 3, turn, 1 dc in 2nd dc, * 1 shell in next ch-3 space, 1 dc in each of next 4 dc; repeat from * twice more, 1 shell in next ch-3 space, 1 dc in next dc, 1 dc in top of turning ch.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until 16 rows–about 8 ins. from beg. Fasten off.
