MATERIALS: BEAR BRAND, FLEISHER'S or BOTANY Twin-Pak TOWN 'n COUNTRY, 3 oz. packs
Darkest Color - A - 5 packs
Dark Color - B - 4 packs
Medium Color - C - 4 packs
Light Color - D - 3 packs
KNITTING NEEDLES: 1 Pair "Boye" Needles, Size 15-OR SIZE YOU REQUIRE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
GAUGE: 3 sts = 1 inch, 7 rows = 2 inches

Entire afghan is knitted with 2 strands of a color worked together.
First, 3rd and 5th Strips-With size 15 needles and 2 strands of A, cast on 31 sts. Follow Pattern Square No. 97 until 34 rows from beg., end on wrong side. Break A. With B continue in pat. for 34 rows. Break B. Alternating A and B, work 34 rows of each color until there are 7 blocks, end with an A block on wrong side with pat. row 2. Bind off as to k.
2nd and 4th Strips-With size 15 needles and 2 strands of C, cast on 31 sts. Work same as for first, 3rd and 5th strips, alternating C and D blocks.
FINISHING-Block each strip to measure about 10 x 70 ins., see pattern book page. Arrange strips as illustrated. Pin, then sew strips tog., with care to keep seams elastic.
FRINGE-Use C for first, 3rd and 5th strips and D for 2nd and 4th strips.
Wind yarn around a 5 in. cardboard. Cut at one end. Knot 3 strands in every other st across upper and lower edges of afghan. Trim ends evenly.
