Light Color - A - 2 packs
Medium Color - B - 4 packs

Darkest Color - D - 4 packs
KNITTING NEEDLES: 1 Pair "Boye" Needles, Size 8-OR SIZE YOU REQUIRE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
GAUGE: Panels 1, 3, 5 and 7-Double Seed St-11 sts = 2 inches, 7 rows = 1 inch
Panels 2, 4 and 6-Lace and Cable Pat.-6 sts = 1 inch, 8 rows = 1 inch

Panels 1 and 7-With size 8 needles and D, cast on 41 sts. Follow Pattern Square No. 88 until 434 rows-about 62 ins. from beg., end on wrong side with pat. row 4. Bind off in pat.
Panels 3 and 5-With size 8 needles and B, cast on 41 sts. Work same as for panels 1 and 7.
Panel 4 - Center Panel - with size 8 needles and A, cast on 41 sts. Follow Pattern Square No. 56 until 494 rows-about 62 ins. from beg., end on right side with pat. row 6. Bind off as to p.
Panels 2 and 6-With size 8 needles and B, cast on 41 sts. Work same as for panel 4.
FINISHING-Block panels 1, 3, 5 and 7 to measure about 7 ½ x 63 ins. Block panels 2, 4 and 6 to measure about 6 ½ x 63 ins., see pattern book page.
Arrange panels as illustrated, alternating pats., having lightest Lace and Cable panel at center, darkest Double Seed st panel at each edge. Pin, then sew panels tog., with care to keep seams elastic.
FRINGE-Wind B around a 3 in. cardboard. Cut at one end. Knot 3 strands in every 3rd st across upper and lower edges of afghan. Trim ends evenly.
