MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Columbia-Minerva Nantuk Sweater & Afghan Yarn (2 oz pull skein): 5 (6-6-7-7-7) skeins
Needles: One pair each "Boye" Size 6 & 9
Gauge: Stockinette St on Size 9—9 sts to 2 inches; 6 rows to 1 inch
Back: With Size 6 needles cast on 76 (80-84-88-92-98) sts. K 1 row and P 1 row for 7 rows. Inc'ing 1 st each side, K next row for turn. Change to Size 9 needles and work in St St on the 78 (82-86-90-94-100) sts to 17 inches or desired length above turn to underarm, end on wrong side. Width across back is 17¼ (18-19-20-21-22) inches.
Raglan Armholes: Bind off 2 (3-3-3-3-4) sts at beg of next 2 rows.
Dec Row: K 1, sl 1, K 1, psso, K to last 3 sts, K 2 tog, K 1. Repeat Dec Row every other row until 26 (26-28-30-32-34) sts rem. Sl sts to a holder.
Right Front: With Size 6 needles cast on 56 (58-60-62-64-67) sts. K 1 row and P 1 row. Next row K 2, K 2 tog, yo for eyelet on facing, K to end. P 1 row and K 1 row for 4 more rows. Inc'ing 1 st at beg, K next row for turn. Change to Size 9 needles. Work on the 57 (59-61-63-65-68) sts as follows:
Row 1—Right side: [K 1 and P 1] 3 times, K to end.
Row 2: P to last 6 sts, [K 1 and P 1] 3 times.
Eyelet: K 1, P 1, K 2 tog, yo, K 1, P 1, K to end.
Repeat Rows 1 & 2 for pat with eyelet every 14th row 6 times more, end on right side. Repeat Row 2 once more. Sl sts to a holder.
Left Front: With Size 6 needles cast on 22 (24-26-28-30-33) sts. K 1 row and P 1 row. Next row, K to last 4 sts, yo, K 2 tog, K 2. P 1 row and K 1 row for 4 more rows. Inc'ing 1 st at end, K next row for turn. Change to Size 9 needles. Work on the 23 (25-27-29-31-34) sts as follows:
Row 1—Right side: K to last 6 sts, [P 1 and K 1] 3 times.
Row 2: [P 1 and K 1] 3 times, P to end.
Eyelet: K to last 6 sts, P 1, K 1, yo, K 2 tog, P 1, K 1. Repeat eyelet every 14th row 6 times more, end on right side. Repeat Row 2 once more.
To Join Fronts: On right side of work, K the 23 (25-27-29-31-34) left front sts, sl sts of right front to free Size 9 needle and K them. Next row P 56 (58-60-62-64-67), P 3 tog, P to end: 78 (82-86-90-94-100) sts. Work same as back until 50 (50-52-54- 56-58) sts rem, end on right side.
Neck: P 18 and sl them to a holder, P center 14 (14-16-18-20-22) and sl them to 2nd holder for neck, P to end. Dec 1 st at neck every other row 6 times And At The Same Time continue to dec at raglan as before until 2 sts rem. P the 2 sts. K 2 tog. Fasten off. Starting at opposite neck edge, work other side.
Sleeves: With Size 6 needles cast on 34 (36-36-38-38-40) sts. K 1 and P 1 in ribbing for 2½ inches, inc'ing 2 (2-4-4-6-6) sts evenly spaced across last row. Change to Size 9 needles. Work in St St, inc'ing 1 st each side on 5th row then every 8th row 7 times more. Work on the 52 (54-56-58-60-62) sts to 17 inches or desired length to underarm, end on wrong side. Width across sleeve is 11¾ (12-12½-13-13½-13¾) inches.
Raglan Sleeve Cap: Bind off 2 (3-3-3-3-4) at beg of next 2 rows. Dec'ing for raglan as on back, dec 1 st each side on next row, every 4th row 2 (3-3-3-3-4) times then every other row until 4 sts rem. Sl sts to a holder.
Neckband: Leaving right back raglan seam open, sew raglan seams, joining sleeves to back and front. On right side with Size 6 needles, starting at open seam, pick up and K 84 (84-88-92-96-100) sts around neck including holders. K 1 and P 1 in ribbing for 1¼ inches. Bind off loosely in ribbing.
Sew open seam joining neckband. Sew sleeve and side seams. Turn in and sew hem. Lace with ski-boot thong as shown.
