Directions are for Size 10. Changes for Sizes 12, 14, 16 & 18 are in parentheses.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Columbia-Minerva Nantuk Sweater & Afghan Yarn (2 oz pull skein): 7 (8-8-9-9) skeins

Needles: One pair each "Boye" Sizes 7 and 9

Gauge:
Ribbing: 5 sts to 1 inch
St St: 9 sts to 2 inches; 6 rows to 1 inch

Back: With Size 9 needles cast on 102 (102-110-110-118) sts.

Row 1Right side: K 2, * P 2, K 2, repeat from * across.

Row 2: P 2, * K 2, P 2, repeat from * across.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for 21 inches, end with Row 2.

Dec Row: K 2, [P 2 and K 2] 1 (2-1-4-3) times, P 2 tog, * K 2, P 2 tog, repeat from * to last 6 (10-6-18-14) sts, work in ribbing to end.

Starting with a P row, work in St St on the 79 (81-85-91-95) sts to 23 inches from start. Width across back is 17½ (18-19-20-21) inches.

Armholes: Bind off 3 (3-3-4-5) at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each side every other row 6 (6-7-8-8) times. Work on the 61 (63-65-67-69) sts to 5 (5½-5½-6-6) inches straight above underarm, end on right side. Width across shoulders is 13½ (14-14½-15-15½) inches.

Neck & Shoulders: P 22 (22-23-23-23) and sl them to a holder, P center 17 (19-19-21-23) sts and sl them to 2nd holder for neck, P to end. Bind off 3 sts at neck twice then dec 1 st at same edge every other row twice And At The Same Time when armhole measures 6 (6½-6½-7-7) inches straight above underarm bind off 5 sts at armhole twice then 4 (4-5-5-5) sts at same edge once. Starting at opposite neck edge, work other side.      

Front: Work same as back until armholes measure 4 (4½-4½-5-5) inches straight above underarm, end on right side.

Neck: P 22 (22-23-23-23) and sl them to a holder, P center 17 (19-19-21-23) and sl them to 2nd holder for neck, P to end. Bind off 3 sts at neck twice then dec 1 st at same edge every other row twice. Work on the 14 (14-15-15-15) sts to match back armhole, end on wrong side.

Shoulder: Bind off 5 sts at armhole edge twice then 4 (4-5-5-5) at same edge once. Starting at opposite neck edge, work other side.

Sleeves: With Size 7 needles, cast on 30 (34-34-38-42) sts. Work ribbing same as on back for 3 inches, end with Row 2. Inc'ing 4 (2-4-4-4) sts evenly spaced across, K next row. Change to Size 9 needles. Starting with a P row, work in St St on the 34 (36-38-42-46) sts. Inc 1 st each side every 8th row 9 times. Work on the 52 (54-56-60-64) sts to 17 inches or desired length to underarm. Width across is 11¾ (12-12½-13¼-14¼) inches.

Sleeve Cap: Bind off 3 (3-3-4-5) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each side every other row until 24 sts rem. Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 4 rows. Bind off.

Turtleneck: Sew left shoulder seam. With Size 9 needles on right side, starting at open shoulder, pick up and K 84 (88-88-92-96) sts around neck, including holder. K 2 and P 2 in ribbing for 7½ inches. Bind off in ribbing. Sew open shoulder, joining turtleneck and reversing seam for turn. Sew sleeves in place then sew side and sleeve seams.
