Crochet Plant Hanger Pattern

You Need: Columbia-Minerva Yarn, 1 ball for plant hanger and tassel.
Ring for hanging.
"Boye" crochet hook Size I or size to give gauge.

Gauge: 5 sts = 2"

Ch 6, join with a sl st to form a ring.

Rnd 1: Work 12 sc in ring, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 4 (counts as first dc and ch-1), *dc in next sc, ch 1; rep from * around, join with a sl st to 3rd ch of ch-4.

Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in each st and each ch-1 sp (24 dc). Join with sl st to top of ch-3.

Rnd 4: Ch 5 (counts as first dc and ch-2), *sk 1 dc, dc in next dc, ch 1, dc in next dc, ch 2; rep from *, end sk 1 dc, dc in last dc, ch 1, sl st in 3rd ch of ch-5.

Rnd 5: Ch 6 (counts as first dc and ch-3), * in next ch-1 sp between 2 dc gr work dc, ch 1, dc (V st), ch 3, rep from* end dc in last ch-1 sp, ch 1, join with sl st to 3rd ch of ch-6.

Rnd 6: Rep Rnd 5 having ch-2 instead of ch-1 between V sts.

Rnd 7: Ch 7 (counts as first dc and ch-4), work dc, ch 2, dc in ch-2 sp of each V st and ch 4 between V sts, dc in last sp, ch 4, sl st in 3rd ch of ch-7.

Rnd 8: Work as Rnd 7, having ch-3 between dc of V sts. Continue in this way to work V sts in V sts, with 1 ch more at beg of rnds and between V sts every 2nd rnd; 1 ch more between dcs of V sts on alternate rnds to desired depth for pot.

Edging: Ch 1, *sc in each ch to next V st, sc in dc, sc in ½ number of chs between V sts, ch 4 (picot), sc in next ch and rem chs between V sts, sc in dc, sc in each ch to V st, sc in dc, sc in each ch between V sts, sc in dc; rep from * around. Join and fasten off.

Hanging Chains (Make 2): Leaving an end for sewing, ch 100. Work sl st in each ch to end. Fasten off, leaving an end. Draw ends thru ring. Sew ends of 1 chain to center of chain of opposite V sts without picots. Wrap yarn several times around both chains 1" from ring. Secure ends. For tassel wind yarn around 8" cardboard, cut one end. Tie yarn tightly 1½" from looped end, secure. Fasten to center of plant hanger.
