Thread Colors:

Brown, a small bit of red, blue, white

Crochet Instructions:

This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. Do not chain and turn. Always use the top loop of every st throughout pattern.

Using brown, chain 4, sl st to join. (4)

Rounds 1-3: 2 sc in each st around. (8) (16) (32)

Rounds 4-8: 1 sc in each st around. (32)

Rounds 9-12: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, skip third st, sc in next st, repeat from * around. (24) (18) (14) (11)

Round 13: 2 sc in each st around. (22)

Round 14: 1 sc in each st around. (22)

Round 15: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the third st, repeat from * around. (29)

Rounds 16-24: 1 sc in each st around. (29)

Round 25: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, skip third st, sc in next st, repeat from * around. (22)

Rounds 26-28: Sl st every other st around, until body opening is closed; break off and fasten, tucking ends. (11) (6) (3) (2) (0)

Ears. Sl st sc into top of head, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 3 tc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc all in the same st; break off and fasten, two ends together and tucking into head. Repeat for other ear.

Hanger. Sl st sc into top of head between ears, ch 10 and sl st back into head; break off and buck ends into head.

Arms and Legs. Sl st sc into side edge of body, 1 sc in each st, 5 times, ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in each of the bottom sc loops, turn and continue 1 sc in each of the top sc loops. (10)

Rounds 1-6: 1 sc in each st around. (10)

Round 7: Sl st every other st around, until opening is closed; break off and fasten, tucking ends. Repeat from start to finish for other arm and legs. (5) (3) (2) (0)

Face. Embroider now or after spraying. Use blue for eyes, making French knots with 3 running stitches above each for eyelashes. Outline lower part of eyes with white. Use red for nose – a French knot. Use red for mouth, outlining with running stitches.

Shaping Instructions:

See General Instructions for pinning and spraying. Use tube as though one layer. Push out face area, pushing from back, to a rounded shape. Do the same for body area. Position arms out to his sides, and round them toward the front. Turn bottom of legs forward, to make feet. Shape hanger into a diamond or other open shape, standing up from top of head.
