Materials Needed
1 Package Rocaille beads — red (¾ oz. package)
1 Package Rocaille beads — gold (¾ oz. package)
1 Bunch #30 gauge Bead Wire
STEP ONE — Large Wing
String 28 red beads on wire. Slip 10 beads to within 2" of end of wire. Twist ends of wire together making a loop. Make second loop of 18 beads around first loop. Do not cut wire. String 25 gold beads on same wire and make a gold loop around red loop.
String 25 more beads on wire and twist the last 5 beads together into a loop. This makes half a petal and forms the point on the wing. Now string 15 more beads on wire and finish petal.
String 46 more beads onto same wire and make a loop around the last loop. Figure 1. Make a second wing.
STEP TWO — Small Wing
String 10 red beads on wire. Slip to within 2" of end of wire. Make loop.
String 15 gold beads on same wire and make a loop around the red loop.
String 26 beads on same wire. Slip 10 of these up against loops. Take the next 16 beads and make a loop by twisting wire. This makes the fancy tip on the small wing.
Slip on 16 more beads to complete the wing. Figure 2
STEP THREE — Body
For the "feeler," string 1 bead on wire and twist tightly together for about l½" down. Repeat this procedure for second "feeler".
Twist the two "feelers" together for 1½”. Figure 3 String 5" of gold beads on wire. Wrap beads around and around feeler wire, starting at head and working down to nothing at the tail. Figure 4.
Wire the 2 large wings together and then to the body. Repeat this procedure and attach the small wings to the body.
