Good for You Apple Syrup

What You Need:

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 C unsweetened apple juice
  • Splenda to equal 4 tsp of sugar

How to Make It:

  1. Place the cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg into a saucepan.
  2. Stir in the apple juice until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a boil.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly for 2 minutes or until thickened to your liking.
  5. Remove from the heat and stir in the Splenda.

Makes 1 1/4 C

This is a great alternative to maple syrup. It tastes great and the calories are much lower than regular syrup. Try it on pancakes, waffles or your favorite French toast recipe.
