TLC® "Heathers", 100% acrylic. Art, E512 (5 oz skeins); 12 (13, 14, 15, 16, 17) Ounces No. 2445 Smoke Green or No. 2451 Light Mulberry.
Knitting Needles: U.S. Sizes 6 [4mm] and 8 [5mm].
Circular Knitting Needles: U.S. Size 6 [4mm] - 36".
Stitch holder, cable holder, yarn needle, 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 6) 1" buttons, sewing needle and thread.

GAUGES: 16 sts = 4"; 23 rows = 4" in pat A on larger needles. 16 sts of pat B = 2 ¾". CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauges given.
To Fit Chest: 32 (35, 38, 41, 45, 49)".
Finished Chest Measurement: 35 (39, 41, 45, 49, 53)".

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS:
KTw
= With right needle behind work, skip next st, K into the back of next st, then K the skipped st in the usual manner and let both sts off the left needle.
PTw = With right needle in front of work, skip next st, P the next st, then P the skipped st in the usual manner and let both sts off the left needle.
C6B = Sl next 3 sts onto cable holder and hold at back of work, K3, then K3 from holder.

PAT A (Worked over odd number of sts):

Row 1 (Right Side): K1, * P1, K1; rep from * across.

Row 2: P1, * K1, P1; rep from * across.

Row 3: Rep Row 2.

Row 4: Rep Row 1.

Rep Rows 1-4 for pat A.

PAT B (Worked over 16 sts):

Row 1 (Right Side): P1, KTw, P2, K6, P2, KTw, P1.

Rows 2, 4 and 6: K1, PTw, K2, P6, K2, PTw, K1.

Rows 3 and 5: Rep Row 1.

Row 7: P1, KTw, P2, C6B, P2, KTw, P1.

Row 8: Rep Row 2.

Rep Rows 1-8 for pat B.

BACK: With smaller needles, cast on 81 (89, 93, 101, 109, 117) sts. Work in ribbing: Row 1 (Right Side): K1, * P1, K1; rep from * across. Row 2: P1, * K1, P1; rep from * across. Rep Rows 1 and 2 for 2 ½", end Row 2. Change to larger needles and place pats as follows:

Row 1 (Right Side): Work pat A Row 1 across first 13 (15, 17, 19, 23, 25) sts, pat B Row 1 across next 16 sts, pat A Row 1 across center 23 (27, 27, 31, 31, 35) sts, pat B Row 1 across next 16 sts, pat A Row 1 across last 13 (15, 17, 19, 23, 25) sts. Patterns are now in position. Work correct row of each pat until 14 (14, 15, 15, 16, 16)" from beg, end wrong side row. Shape Armholes: Keeping continuity of pats, bind off 5 (7, 7, 8, 9, 10) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st each end of every right side row 6 times - 59 (63, 67, 73, 79, 85) sts. Work even until armhole measures 9 ½ (9 ½, 10, 10 ½, 11, 11 ½)", end wrong side row. Shape Shoulders: Bind off 19 (19, 21, 22, 25, 26) sts at beg of next 2 rows, dec 4 sts across each pat B section. Put rem 21 (25, 25, 29, 29, 33) sts on a holder.

RIGHT FRONT: With smaller needles cast on 37 (41, 43, 47, 51, 55) sts, work in ribbing same as back, inc 1 st on last row, end Row 2 - 38 (42, 44, 48, 52, 56) sts. Change to larger needles and place pats as follows:

Row 1 (Right Side): Work pat A Row 1 across first 9 (11, 11, 13, 13, 15) sts, work pat B Row 1 across next 16 sts, work pat A Row 1 across last 13 (15, 17, 19, 23, 25) sts. Pats are now in position. Work correct row of each pat until front measures same as back to underarm, end wrong side row.

Shape Armhole and Front Slope: Dec 1 st at beg of next row. Bind off 5 (7, 7, 8, 9, 10) sts at beg of next row. Dec 1 st at arm edge every right side row 6 times AND AT THE SAME TIME dec 1 st at neck edge every 4 rows from previous decrease 7 (9, 9, 11, 11, 13) times - 19 (19, 21, 22, 25, 26) sts. Work even until front measures same as back to shoulder, end right side row. Bind off, dec 4 sts across pat B.

LEFT FRONT: Work same as right front placing pats on Row 1 as follows: pat A Row 1 across first 13 (15, 17, 19, 23, 25) sts, pat B Row 1 across next 16 sts, pat A Row 1 across rem 9 (11, 11, 13, 13, 15) sts. Work same as right front reversing shapings.

FINISHING-Neckband: Sew shoulder seams. Mark positions for 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 6) buttonholes on right front for women or left front for men, the first ½" above lower edge, the last ½" below beg of front slope shaping, and the remaining buttonholes evenly spaced between. With right side facing and circular needle, pick up and K63 (63, 67, 67, 73, 73) sts from lower right edge to beg of front slope shap-ing, 43 (44, 46, 49, 51, 53) sts to shoulder seam, K across sts on back holder, pick up 43 (44, 46, 49, 51, 53) sts to beg of left slope shaping, and 63 (63, 67, 67, 73, 73) sts to lower left edge - 233 (239, 251, 261, 277, 285) sts. Work 2 rows in ribbing same as back, beg Row 2. Buttonhole Row: [Rib to marker, bind off 2 sts] 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 6) times, rib to end. Next Row: [Rib to bind-off, turn, cast on 2 sts, turn] 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 6) times, rib to end. Work 2 more rows ribbing. Bind off in rib. Sew buttons to band opposite buttonholes.

Armbands: With right side facing and smaller needles, pick up and K103 (107, 111, 119, 125, 131) sts across armhole edge. Work 6 rows ribbing, same as back, beg Row 2. Bind off in rib. Sew side and band seams.
