Shamrock Skillet Slaw

What You Need:

  • 1/4 C butter
  • 1/2 t season salt
  • 1 head of cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 white onion, chopped
  • 3 T of vinegar
  • 1 T sugar

How to Make It:

  1. Place the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Allow the butter to completely melt.
  3. Stir the season salt into the butter.
  4. Add the cabbage and onion and stir to coat with the butter.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium, cover the skillet and cook 15 minutes being sure to stir often.
  6. Pour the vinegar into a small bowl.
  7. Add the sugar and whisk until the sugar has dissolved.
  8. Pour the mixture over the cabbage mixture and stir to combine all the ingredients together well.
  9. Continue cooking an additional 5 minutes or until the vinegar mixture is heated through.

Serves: 6

Shredded carrots can also be added to this simple recipe.
