Cap fits most toddlers.

RED HEART® "Designer Sport™": 1 Ball each 3815 Dutch Blue CA and 3101 Ivory CB.

Knitting Needles: 4mm [US 6].
Yarn needle.

GAUGE: 22 sts = 4"; 30 rows = 4" in St st. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge. Circumference: 17½".

CAP: With CA, cast on 96 sts. Work in ribbing as follows:

Row 1 (Right Side): * K2, P2; rep from * across.

Rep Row 1 for ribbing until 1¾" from beg, end wrong side row.

Work in St st, beg K row, for 4 rows, end P row. Now work 4 rows St st with CB, then 4 rows CA, then 4 rows CB, then 2 rows CA.

Shape Crown-Row 1: Continue with CA, [K10, K2tog] 8 times - 88 sts.
Row 2: and all even rows through Row 20: Purl.
Row 3: With CB, [K9, K2tog] 8 times - 80 sts.
Row 5: [K8, K2tog] 8 times - 72 sts.
Row 7: With CA, [K7, K2tog] 8 times - 64 sts.
Row 9: [K6, K2tog] 8 times - 56 sts.
Row 11: With CB, [K5, K2tog] 8 times - 48 sts.
Row 13: [K4, K2tog] 8 times - 40 sts.
Row 15: With CA, [K3, K2tog] 8 times - 32 sts.
Row 17: [K2, K2tog] 8 times - 24 sts.
Row 19: With CB, [K1, K2tog] 8 times - 16 sts.
Row 21: [K2 tog] 8 times - 8 sts. Bind off all sts leaving a long tail.

FINISHING: With yarn needle, weave long tail of yarn through sts at top of hat; draw up firmly, fasten securely. Sew back seam, reversing for ribbing. Fold ribbing up.
