You Need:
4 skeins Color A and 2 skeins Color B
Needles: One "Boye" or "Diana" crochet hook Size J

Gauge: 2 V-sts & 1 ch-1 space to 2"

With Color A - ch 4, join with a sl st to first ch.

Row 1: Work 6 sc in ring.

Row 2: 2 sc in each sc, join with sl st in first sc: 12 sc.

Row 3: Ch 4 for first dc & space, 1 dc in next sc, * ch 1, 1 dc in next sc, repeat from * around, ch 1, sl st in 3rd st of ch-4.

Row 4: Sl st in first ch-1 space, ch 4 for first dc & space, 1 dc in same space to complete first V-st, * ch 1, in next space work 1 dc-ch 1 & 1 dc for a V-st, repeat from * around, ch 1, sl st in 3rd st of ch-4: 12 V-sts.

Row 5: Sl st in first ch-1 space, ch 4, 1 dc in same space for first V-st, * ch 1, 1 V-st in next ch-1 space, repeat from * around, ch 1, sl st in 3rd st of ch-4: 24 V-sts.

Row 6: Sl st in first space, ch 4, 1 dc in same space, * ch 1, 1 V-st in ch-1 space of next V-st, repeat from * around, ch 1, sl st in 3rd st of ch-4: 24 V-sts.

Rows 7 through 23: Repeat Row 6. At the end of Row 23, work the joining sl st with Color B, break off A.

Row 24: With B - Repeat Row 6, join.

Row 25: Sl st in first space, work 1 V-st in ch-1 space of each V-st. join: 24 V-sts.

SHOULDER STRAP: Sl st in first V-st, ch 3 for first dc, (1 dc in next space between the 2 V-sts, 1 dc in next V-st) 3 times: 7 dc across, ch 3, turn.

Row 2: With ch-3 as first dc, work 1 dc in each dc, ch 3, turn.

Repeat Row 2. working to 19" from start of strap when strap is slightly stretched or to desired length. Fasten off.

Skip 8 V-sts on last long row, join B in next V-st, ch 3 for first dc, [1 dc in next space between 2 V-sts, 1 dc in next V-st] 3 times: 7 dc across, ch 3, turn. Finish same as other strap.

BUTTONLOOP FLAP: On one side of bag - between the shoulder straps - skip 2 V-sts, join B in next V-st, ch 3 for first dc, (1 dc in next space between 2 V-sts, 1 dc in next V-st) 3 times: 7 dc across, ch 3, turn. Work 3 more rows on the 7 dc. At the end of last row, ch 6 for buttonloop, turn. Join with a sl st in first dc of last row, turn. Work 7 sc in ch-6 loop, join with a sl st, fasten off. Sew a large wooden button on other side. Overlap shoulder straps about 5" for extra thickness on shoulder and sew.
