Suitable for beginners.

Directions are for Size 4. Changes for Sizes 6, 8 and 10 are in parentheses.

RED HEART® "Kids™" Light Worsted Weight Yarn, 100% acrylic, Art. E711 (5 oz solids; 4 oz multi-color skeins).
Amount: 8 (9, 10, 11) Ounces CA, 2 ½ (3, 3 ½, 4) ounces CB, and 1 ounce CC.

COLOR COMBINATIONS:
2734 Pink CA, 2945 Bikini CB, 2850 Turquoise Cc. 2230 Yellow CA, 2930 Crayon CB, 2677 Green CC. 2652 Lime CA, 2940 Beach CB, 2845 Blue CC.

Crochet Hooks: U.S. Sizes H-8 [5mm] and I-9 [5.5mm].

GAUGES: In dc - 13 sts = 4"; 8 rows = 4" with larger hook. Band Rows 1-12 = 3" with larger hook. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauges given.

To Fit Chest: 24 (26, 28, 30)".
Finished Chest Measurement: 28 (29 ½, 32, 34 ½)".
Pullover length = 16 (17, 18 ½, 19 ½)"; sleeve length = 11 ½ (12 ½, 13 ½, 14 ½)".

BACK-Ribbing: With smaller hook and CC, ch 46 (48, 52, 56). Fasten off.

Row 1 (Right Side): Attach CA in last ch made; ch 3, dc in next ch and in each ch across; turn - 46 (48, 52, 56) sts.

Row 2: Ch 2, skip first st, * dc around the post of next dc from the front, dc around the post of next dc from the back; rep from * to last st; hdc in top of ch.

Rows 3 and 4: Rep Row 2 twice more. Change to larger hook.

Row 5: Ch 3, skip hdc, dc in next dc and in each dc across, dc in top of ch; turn.

Row 6: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc and in each dc across, dc in top of ch; turn.

Rep Row 6 until 6 ½ (7 ½, 8 ½, 9 ½)" from beg, end wrong side row and change to CC in last st of last row. Cut CA.

Band-Row 1 (Right Side): With CC ch 1, sc in each st across. Fasten off.

Row 2: With right side facing attach CB in back lp of first st of last row; ch 1, sc in back lp of each sc across; turn.

Rows 3-10: Ch 1, sc in both lps of each sc across; turn.

Row 11: Rep Row 3 changing to CC in last sc; turn. Cut CB.

Row 12: Rep Row 1. Fasten off.

Yoke-Next Row: With right side facing attach CA in back lp of first st of last row; ch 3, dc in next sc and in each sc across; turn. Work even in dc through both lps until 6 ½ (6 ½, 7, 7)" above band Row 12. Fasten off. Mark center 20 (20, 22, 22) sts for back neck.

FRONT: Work same as back until yoke measures 4 (4, 4 ½, 4 ½)" above band Row 12.

Divide for Neck: Work across first 16 (17, 18, 20) sts; turn. Dec 1 st at neck edge on next 3 rows. Work even on 13, (14, 15, 17) sts until front measures same as back to shoulder. Fasten off.

Skip next 14 (14, 16, 16) dc of last long row, attach CA in next dc, ch 3, dc in each st to end; turn - 16 (17, 18, 20) sts. Complete to correspond to first side.

SLEEVES: With smaller hook and CC, ch 24 (24, 26, 26). Fasten off. Work Rows 1-4 same as back over 24 (24, 26, 26) sts. Work Row 5 inc 6 (6, 4, 4) sts evenly across - 30 sts. Work Row 6 same as for back.

Continue in dc, shaping sides by inc 1 st each end of every right side row until there are 42 (42, 46, 46) sts. Work even in dc until 8 ½ (9 ½, 10 ½, 11 ½)" from beg, end wrong side row and change to CC in last st of last row. Cut CA. Rep Rows 1-12 of band same as for back.

FINISHING-Neckband: Sew right shoulder seam. With right side facing and smaller hook, attach CA at left neck edge; ch 3, work 9 dc down left neck, 14 (14, 16, 16) dc across center front, 10 dc up right neck, and 20 (20, 22, 22) dc across back neck; turn - 54 (54, 58, 58) sts. Rep Ribbing Rows 2 and 3 same as for back. Fasten off. With right side facing and larger hook, attach CC in back lp of first st at left neck edge; ch 1, sl st loosely in back lp of each st across. Fasten off.

Sew rem shoulder and neckband seam. Place center of sleeve top at shoulder seam and sew in place, having sleeve band Row 12 meet front and back band Row 12. Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave in ends.
