RED HEART® "Super Saver®": 4 skeins 788 Williamsburg Print A; 1 skein each 656 Real Teal B, 321 Gold C, and 332 Ranch Red D.
Crochet Hook: 6.5mm [US K-10.5].
Yarn needle.

GAUGE: Motif = 8 ½" across. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

Special Abbreviations

dc2tog = [Yo and draw up a loop in ring, yo and draw through 2 loops] twice, yo and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

dc3tog = Yo and draw up a loop in next st, yo and draw through 2 loops, yo and draw up a loop in seam, yo and draw through 2 loops, yo and draw up a loop in next st, yo and draw through 2 loops, yo and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

THROW

Basic Hexagon

Ch 5; join with a slip st to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, dc in ring, [ch 3, dc2tog] 5 times in ring, ch 3; join with a slip st in top of ch-3. Fasten off.

Round 2: Join yarn in any ch-3 space; ch 3, 5 dc in same space, [6 dc in next space] 5 times; join. Fasten off.

Round 3: Join yarn in same st as joining; ch 3, dc in next 5 dc, [ch 2, dc in next 6 dc] 5 times, ch 2; join. Fasten off.

Round 4: Join yarn in any ch-2 space; ch 3, dc in same space, * dc in each dc to ch-2 space **, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) all in ch-1 space; repeat from * around, end at **; 2 dc in final ch-2 space, ch 2; join. Fasten off.

Rounds 5 and 6: Repeat Round 4.

Finishing

Following diagram, sew hexagons together in back loops.

Borders

With right side facing, join B at point A as indicated on schematic; ch 3, [dc in each dc to 1 dc before seam, dc3tog] twice, dc to next space. Fasten off.

In same way, work 3 more borders with B beginning at points B, C, and then D.

Slip St Edging

With right side facing, join B in any ch-2 space; ch 1, slip st evenly around entire piece, including border. Fasten off. With tapestry needle and A, embroider running st around entire edge as follows: * pull yarn from wrong side through to right side through a stitch, then pull yarn to wrong side through next st, skip 1 st; repeat from * around. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
