About 42 by 56 inches plus fringe

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Columbia-Minerva Nantuk Sweater & Afghan Yarn (2 oz pull skein): 6 skeins of Color A (Dark), 4 skeins each of Colors B, C & D (Medium Dark, Medium, Medium Light) and 3 skeins of E (Light)

Needles: One "Boye" afghan hook Size K and one crochet hook Size G

Gauge: 3 sts to 1 inch; 2 rows to 1 inch

Panel: With afghan hook and double strand of Color A—ch 27.

Row 1: Counting loop on hook as first st, insert hook in next st and draw up a loop. Keeping all loops on hook, draw up a loop in each ch across—27 loops on hook. To work off loops: Yo and draw through 1 loop, * yo and draw through 2 loops, repeat from * until 1 loop rem's.

Row 2: Counting loop on hook as first st, draw up a loop under vertical bar of each st across, inserting hook through double loop of last st for a firm edge—27 loops on hook.

Repeat Row 2 for afghan st pat, working 8 rows of A from start. Break off 1 strand of A, join 1 strand of B and work 6 rows with 1 strand each of A & B. Break off A, join 2nd strand of B. With double strand of B work 6 rows. Break off 1 strand of B, join 1 strand of C. With 1 strand each of B & C work 6 rows. Break off B, join 2nd strand of C. With double strand of C work 6 rows. Break off 1 strand of E, join 1 strand of D. With 1 strand each of C & D work 6 rows. Break off C, join 2nd strand of D. With double strand of D work 6 rows. Break off 1 strand of D, join 1 strand of E. With 1 strand each of D & E work 6 rows. Break off D, join 2nd strand of E. With double strand of E work 6 rows. Break off 1 strand of E, join 1 strand of D. With 1 strand each of E & D work 6 rows. Break off E, join 2nd strand of D and work 6 rows. Break off 1 strand of D, join 1 strand of C
and work 6 rows. Break off D, join 2nd strand of C and work 6 rows. Break off 1 strand of C and join 1 strand of B and work 6 rows. Break off C, join 2nd strand of B and work 6 rows. Break off 1 strand of B, join 1 strand of A and work 6 rows. Break off B, join 1 strand of A and work 8 rows.

With double strand of A, sl st in vertical bar of each st across. Fasten off.

With loop of single strand of A on Size G hook, sl st in upper right corner of panel. Make cluster as follows: Draw up 1-inch loop on hook, [yo, draw up 1-inch loop in same st] 3 times, yo and through 6 loops on hook, yo and through 3 loops, ch 3 to complete cluster, work 2 more clusters in corner, work 1 cluster in every other st across top, 3 clusters in corner, 1 cluster in each row along side edge, continue around with 3 clusters in each corner, join and fasten off.

Make 3 more panels the same. Sew panels tog.

Fringe: Cut strands 10 inches long. With 5 strands each of A & B, fold the 10 strands in half and draw through corner clusters, draw ends through loop and tighten. Fringes are placed in every other ch-3 space between clusters in color sequence as follows:
Next fringe is 10 strands of B & C, then C & D for 3 fringes, 4 fringes of Color D, 4 of D & E, 6 of E then reverse the colors to other corner. Fringe other end the same.
