Thread Colors:

Red, pink or flesh, black, yellow, white

Crochet Instructions:

This pattern is worked in continuous rounds as a tube. Do not chain and turn. Always use the top loop of every st throughout pattern.

Using pink or flesh, chain 4, sl st to join. (4)

Rounds 1-2: 2 sc in each st around. (8) (16)

Round 3: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in third st, repeat from * around. (21)

Rounds 4-7: 1 sc in each st around. (21)

Rounds 8-10: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, skip the third sc, sc in next st, repeat from * around. Break off. (16) (12) (9)

Round 11: Using red, 2 sc in each st around. (18)

Round 12: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the third st, repeat from * around. (24)

Rounds 13-18: 1 sc in each st around. (24)

Rounds 19-20: Using black, continue 1 sc in each st around. Break off black. (24)

Rounds 21-22: Using red, continue 1 sc in each st around. Break off. (24)

Round 23: Using white, ch 3, 1 sc in the next st, * ch 2, 1 sc in the next st, repeat from * around. Break off and fasten, tucking all ends.

Legs. Using red, sl st sc into underside of front of body, 5 times, ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in each of the bottom sc loops, turn and continue 1 sc in each of the top sc loops. (10)

Rounds 1-3: 1 sc in each st around. Break off. (10)

Rounds 4-6: Using black, continue 1 sc in each st around. (10)

Round 7: 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, continue 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts. (15)

Round 8: 1 sc in each st around. (15)

Rounds 9-10: Sl st every other st around, until foot opening is closed. Break off and fasten, tucking ends. (8) (4) (2) (0)

Pants Trim. Using white, sl st between black and red ch 2, 1 sc in next st, * ch 2, 1 sc in next st, repeat from * around. Break off and fasten, tying and tucking all ends. Repeat from start to finish for other leg, boot, and trim.

Belt Buckle. Using yellow, sl st sc into ending of black of body, 1 sc in each st across black, turn, continue 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, turn, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, turn and finish with 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts. Break off and fasten, tying ends together and tucking.

Hat. Using red, sl st sc into third round of head, 1 sc in each st around. (21)

Rounds 1-2: 1 sc in each st around. (21)

Rounds 3-8: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, skip third st, sc in next st, repeat from * around; break off and fasten. (16) (12) (9) (7) (6) (5)

Round 9: Using white, sl st sc into edge of hat ch 3, 1 sc next st, * ch 2, 1 sc in next st, repeat from * around.

Hanger. Using white, sl st sc into top of hat ch 6, 1 sc in same st, ch 10, 1 sc in same st, ch 6, 1 sc in same st; break off and fasten, tucking ends.

Beard. Using white, sl st sc into front side of face, * ch 2, 1 sc in next st; work across face. Repeat from * working from side to side and covering lower half of face and on suit for desired length; break off and fasten, tucking ends.

Arms and Hands. Using red, sl st sc into side edge of body, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in each of the bottom sc loops, turn and continue 1 sc in each of the top sc loops. (10)

Rounds 1-6: 1 sc in each st around. (10)

Rounds 7-8: Using pink or flesh, continue 1 sc in each st around. (10)

Rounds 9-10: sl st every other st around until hand opening is closed. Break off and fasten. (5) (3) (2) (0)

Trim on Sleeve. Using white, sl st sc between red and pink, * ch 2, 1 sc in next st, repeat from * around sleeve. Break off and fasten, tucking all ends. Repeat from start to finish for other arm, hand and sleeve trim.

Face. Embroider now or after spraying. Make black French knots for eyes and a red French knot for nose.

Shaping Instructions:

See General Instructions for pinning and spraying. Treat the 2 layers of tube as if they were one. Stretch mid-body from side to side to flatten. Fluff up beard and trims on suit and hat. Position upper arms out from body. Bend left arm, from elbow point, down and forward. Bend right forearm up and forward. Bend bottom of boots toward front to form shape of feet. Shape hanger in a diamond or other open shape. Pull hat up to a point.
