Thread Colors:

Tan, white, small bits of pink, red, black

Crochet Instructions:

This pattern is worked in continuous rounds. Do not chain and turn. Always use the top loop of every st throughout pattern.

With tan, chain 4, sl st to join. (4)

Rounds 1-2: 2 sc in each st around. (8) (16)

Round 3-8: 1 sc in each st around. (16)

Round 9: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, skip third st, sc in next st, repeat from * around. (12)

Round 10: 2 sc in each st around. (24)

Rounds 11-20: 1 sc in each st around. (24)

Rounds 21-22: * 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, skip third st, sc next st, repeat from * around. (18) (14)

Round 23: Sl st every other st around until body opening is closed. Break off and fasten, tucking ends. (7) (4) (2) (0)

Arms and Legs. Using tan, sl st sc into edge of body, 1 sc in each of the next 5 sts, ch 1 and turn, 1 sc in each of the bottom sc loops, turn and continue, 1 sc in each of the top sc loops. (10)

Rounds 1-4: 1 sc in each st around. (10)

Rounds 5-6: Sl st, sc every other st around until opening is closed. Break off and fasten, tucking ends. Repeat same for other arm and legs. (5) (3) (2) (0)

Body Trim. Using white, sl st sc into back of body, ch 2, * 1 sc in next st, ch 2, repeat from * and continue doing so up and over shoulder, across body, and over other shoulder back to start. Break off and fasten, tucking ends.

Top Knot and Hanger. Using white, sl st sc into top of head, ch 5, 1 sc in same st, ch 10, sl st in same st, ch 5, sl st into same st. Break off and fasten.

Face and Buttons. Eyes are French knots, using black. Nose is French knot, using red. Cheeks are French knots, using pink. Mouth is 2 running stitches, using red. Buttons are French knots, using white. All these may be added now or after shaping and spraying.

Shaping Instructions:

See General Instructions for pinning and spraying. Stretch the bottom of torso, so that bottom of torso is squared off. Push bottom of torso outward toward the front pushing from back, so that torso will be more forward than legs, creating a slight "pot belly." Stretch arms and legs to a shorter and wider shape. Shape hanger into a diamond or other open shape. Pull face out at cheeks.
