Shoulder Bag & Belt Pattern

You Need:
Bag: 7 skeins of Rug Yarn & 4 balls of Columbia-Minerva REVERIE (1 oz balls)
Belt: 2 skeins of Rug Yarn & 2 balls of REVERIE
Needle: One "Boye" or "Diana" crochet hook Size I

Gauge: 4 groups to 3"; 2 rows to 1"
Work with double strand throughout: 1 strand of Rug Yarn & 1 of Reverie held tog.

BAG:

Ch 34.

Row 1: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook; drawing up ½" loop, 1 hdc in same ch for a group, * skip 1 ch, work 1 group in next ch, repeat from * across, ch 1, turn: 17 groups.

Row 2: * Skip 1 hdc, in next sc work 1 sc & 1 hdc for a group, repeat from * across. Repeat Row 2 for pat working on the 17 groups for 32". Fasten off.

TAB: Turn work. Skip 7 groups, join yarn and work one group in each of next 3 groups, ch 1, turn and work on the 3 groups for 4". Fasten off.

SHOULDER STRAP: Ch 4.

Row 1: Work 1 group in 2nd ch from hook, skip 1 ch. 1 group in last ch, ch 1, turn. Work on the 2 groups for 32" or desired length. Fold bag allowing 7" for flap. Sew side seams. Line with felt, if desired. Sew buckle in place. Fasten shoulder straps in place with 1½" gold rings.

BELT

Ch 6.

Work in pat on 3 groups for 3 rows. Ch 2 to turn at end of each of next 2 rows to inc 1 group at each side. Work on the 5 groups to fit waistline. Do not ch to turn at end of last row. Turn, sl st across 1 group, ch 1, work 1 group in each of next 3 groups, ch 1, turn. Work on the 3 groups for 5". Fasten off. Sew buckle to other end. Line if desired.
