Crochet Pattern Square No. 22, Volume 64

Make squares of Bucilla "Wool and Shetland Wool," 2 oz balls;
or Bear Brand, Fleisher's or Botany Machine Washable Winsom, 2 oz skeins;
or equivalent

Use Crochet Hook, Size G or size required to obtain gauge

GAUGE: Each Square approximately 8 ins. square

Multiple of 6 ch sts

With B, ch 38 for lower edge.

Row 1–right side–Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, * skip next 2 ch, work shell of–2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc–all in next ch, skip next 2 ch, 1 sc in next ch; repeat from * across ch; 6 shells.

Row 2–Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in both loops of first sc, 1 sc in back loop of ch-1 of next shell, * 1 shell in back loop of next sc, 1 sc in back loop of ch-1 of next shell; repeat from * across, end 3 dc in both loops of last sc; 5 shells with ½ shell at each side.

Row 3–Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in both loops of first dc, * 1 shell in back loop of next sc, 1 sc in back loop of ch-1 of next shell; repeat from * across, working last sc of last repeat in top of turning ch.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until 16 rows–about 8 ins. from beg. Fasten off.
