Make squares of Bucilla "Wool and Shetland Wool," 2 oz balls;
or Bear Brand, Fleisher's or Botany Machine Washable Winsom, 2 oz skeins;
or equivalent

Use Crochet Hook, Size G or size required to obtain gauge

GAUGE: Each Square approximately 8 ins. square

Note–All rounds are worked from right side.

Round 1–right side–With A, ch 4, join with sl st in first st to form ring, ch 3, work 2 dc in ring, * ch 3 for corner, work 3 dc–a shell–in ring; repeat from * twice more, ch 3, join with sl st in top of ch 3; 4 shells.

Ch 3 at beg. of round counts as 1 dc.

Round 2–Sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st into first ch-3 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc–all in same space for first corner, * ch 2, work 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc–all in next corner space; repeat from * twice more, ch 2, join with sl st in top of first ch 3; 8, 3-dc shells.

Round 3–Sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st into first ch-3 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc–all in same space for first corner, * ch 2, 3 dc in next space, ch 2, work 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc–all in next space for corner; repeat from * twice more, ch 2, 3 dc in next space, ch 2, join with sl st in top of first ch 3; 12 shells.

Round 4–Sl st in each of next 2 dc, sl st into first ch-3 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc–all in same space for first corner, † * ch 2, 3 dc in next space *; repeat between *'s once more, work ch 2, 3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc–all in next corner space; repeat from † twice more; repeat between *'s twice, ch 2, join as before; 16 shells. Continue in this way having 1 more shell between corners in each successive round until 8 rounds from beg., ending last round join with sl st in top of ch 3; 32 shells. About 8 ins. square. Fasten off.
