Pansy Chart Pattern

Pattern includes the following pansy motifs; 6 small corners A, 3½ x 3½ inches; 2 straight motifs B, 2⅜ x 8⅜ inches; 4 large corners C, 6⅛ x 6⅛ inches and 6 single flowers D, 3⅛ x 3⅝ inches. A chart for placing the colors is also included in the pattern.

SUGGESTED MATERIALS—Lunch sets and lunch cloths may be made of linen or cotton with a smooth linen finish and pillows, of cotton, linen, silk or smooth upholstery fabrics. Be sure to choose materials with a smooth surface, as the short lines of this design will not stamp well on materials with a rough surface. Six strand cotton should be used for the embroidery. The colors used in the pansies are purple, red violet, lavender, vermillion, blue green, yellow green, yellow and white.

HOW TO USE DESIGN—A lunch set consisting of six place mats, a centerpiece and six napkins may be made from either design. Each place mat (size 11 x 15 or 12 x 18 inches) may be trimmed in the upper left hand corner with one small corner designs. The centerpiece or runner may be 11 or 15 inches wide and the desired length. A corner motif may be used in each corner. A short runner is also effective trimmed with the straight motifs, using one at each end. Single flower motifs are suitable for napkins. Lunch cloths may be trimmed in the corners or center as desired. The single flowers may be used in scatter effect to trim a pillow. Another way of trimming a longer runner is to usethe straigth motifs at the two ends and single flowers scattered through the center. Many other uses can be found for these charming designs.
