You Need: Columbia-Minerva Yarn, 1 ball each Green (G), and Yellow (Y).
"Boye" knitting needles No. 8 or size to give gauge.
Gauge: 3 sts = 1"; 4 rows = 1"
Holding 2 needles tog and using G, cast on 19 sts. Remove 1 needle leaving sts on other needle.
Next Row: Inc 1 st in each st - 38 sts. Join Y.
Row 1: *With Y, knit 1, bring both G and Y to front of work (Purl position), with G, purl 1, take both G and Y to back of work; rep from * to end (1 Y st and 1 G st alternated).
Row 2: Working as Row 1, knit G sts with G, purl Y sts with Y. Twist yarns at end of rows to join sides. This procedure will give you a double thickness of one side G, the other side Y. Rep Rows 1 and 2.

Row 11: [Y K 1, G P 1 ] 3 times, * G K 1, Y P 1, [Y K 1, G P 1 ] 5 times; rep from * once, G K 1, Y P 1, [Y K 1, G P 1] 3 times.
Row 12: [G K 1, Y P 1] twice, * [Y K 1, G P 1] 3 times, [G K 1, Y P 1 ] 3 times; rep from *, end last rep [G K 1, Y P 1] twice.

Row 16: * G K 1, Y P 1; rep from * to end.
Row 17: * Y K 1, G P 1; rep from * to end.
Row 18: Rep Row 8.
Row 19: Rep Row 7.
Row 20: Rep Row 6.
Row 21: Rep Row 5.
Row 22: Rep Row 16.
Row 23: Rep Row 1 7.
Rows 24 & 25: Rep Rows 22 & 23. Cut Y.
Rows 26 & 27: With G, * K 1, P 1; rep from * to end. Bind off by [K 2 tog] twice, * sl first st over 2nd st, K 2 tog; rep from * to end. Fasten off.
Hanging Loop: With Y, cast on 1 5 sts. Cut yarn. With G, bind off as to P. Fasten off. Sew to corner of pot holder. With Size H hook, work 1 row sc on sides.
