Row 4-Inc. 1 st in first st as to k, k 1 extra st inserting needle under horizontal thread before next st, p 1, p 5 tog., p 1, * k 1 extra st as before, inc. 2 sts in next st by knitting in front, back and front of st, k 1 extra st as before, p 1, p 5 tog., p 1 *; repeat between *'s to within 1 st of end, k 1 extra st as before, inc. 1 st in last st.

Rows 5, 7 and 9-P 3, * k 1, p 1, k 1, p 5; repeat from *, end last repeat p 3.

Rows 6 and 8-K 3, * p 1, k 1, p 1, k 5; repeat from *, end last repeat k 3.

Row 10-P 3 tog., p 1; repeat between *'s of row 4, end last repeat p 3 tog.

Row 12-Same as row 2.

Repeat these 12 rows for pat. until 54 rows-about 8 ins. from beg., end on wrong side with pat. row 6. Bind off in pat.
