About the Author

Mary Ellen Hughes now lives in Maryland, although she was born and raised in the snowy, lakeside city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As her children grew older, her early interests in writing began waving for attention. Seeing her words in print was addictive, and she began writing feature articles for local newspapers, later turning to fiction.

Owner Jo McAllister would like nothing more than to savor the accomplishment, tend to the store, and teach her new beading workshops. That's before a local developer has her seeing red-then turns up dead.

Paper-Thin Alibi: Sales at the Craft Corner start to crumple when Jo McAllister becomes a suspect in her rival's murder. But during paper craft classes, Jo and her friends discuss motives and means rather than origami and collage. Together they track the twisted trail of a killer, before another life is ripped to shreds.
